The Living Rosary is not a new devotion, but a continuation of the Rosary preached by St. Dominic and announced by Our Lady for centuries. The Living Rosary Association was founded by Pauline Marie Jaricot, who is also the foundress of the Society of the Propagation of the Faith. The indulgences granted to this simple devotion include all those of the Confraternity of the Holy Rosary and more!

In these days of evil, confusion, division, and modernism, what a mighty force for good the Living Rosary will be in every family, diocese and country! We battle today not the evil of man but the principalities and powers of all hell. A gift of the Queen of Heaven, the Holy Rosary prayed faithfully, strengthened by the unity of association, will render all the attacks of Satan impotent. Let us unite with one purpose, spirit and prayer. The intentions of the Universal Living Rosary Association are:

The Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the honor of St. Philomena our patroness and protectress.

This is a "perpetual" rosary. That is, you accept to pray your daily mystery faithfully for the remainder of your life. These obligations do not bind under pain of sin, but your effort and desire to remain faithful are necessary. Your decade may be offered at any time of the day or night. A regular quarterly newsletter, "Dedicated Decades," is posted to every member.

The Living Rosary Association began its revival on December 8, 1986, with 30 local members. Blessed 1000-fold by Our Lady and under the powerful patronage of St. Philomena, the membership is now at 1,000,000 and has been planted in every Continent of the world. Over 3/4 of the membership lies in foreign and Third World countries. Each member is asked to voluntarily give a small monthly donation. We have no other financial support than yours. The funds received are then placed right back into the work to spread the devotion, mail sacramentals to the missions and maintain the Center. If you cannot donate financially, then we ask you to pray fervently that our material needs are met.

If you are interested in becoming a member of the Living Rosary, please send us your name and full address to the Universal Living Rosary Association enrollment center nearest you. We will build a list of 15 names. When the Rosary is complete, the decade you have been assigned and the day to begin will be mailed to you.

Peace and all that is good!

It is with great honor and feeling that I write these words of hope, comfort and consolation. I am a Franciscan Friar and live in Jerusalem in the Holy land, not far from where most of you are now. I serve at the very place where Our Lord Jesus Christ died and rose again. This is the hope that I send unto you today - the hope, which far surpasses all our earthly understanding and will allow you to strive for peace and justice. Christ has conquered death as surely as you will triumph over the evils, which confront you.

Be comforted you brave and courageous people who defend all that is good and true in this world. Be comforted that you are protecting the lives of your loved ones at home. Be comforted that I, your humble servant, will bring your requests and petitions each day to the Hill of Calvary, to the tomb from whence springs all hope and comfort. Find comfort too that, in each Holy Mass I offer, you will be remembered at the altar and brought before the throne of God. May my poor prayers be heard on high for your safety and protection! Each day as the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is offered, every one of you will partake of the fruits of these prayers. Believe me, from this holy place, you will soon begin to feel grace and comfort that the Mass offers you.

Be consoled faithful and good people that Mary, the Holy Mother of Jesus Christ, true God and true Man. will be at your side, just as she was at Christ's side as he hung from the Cross. What sorrow she felt at the tragic end of her son's life and, yet, she must have felt of His glorious rising from the dead! She, like you own dear mother, will offer you the comfort that only a mother knows. She will cover you with her mantle of grace and bring your needs unto her beloved Son. On this mission, Mary the Spouse of the Holy Ghost will be protecting you and spreading her healing balm over your worried family at home. Fear not!

Should any of you, self-sacrificing people, have prayer requests do not hesitate to contact Patti Melvin of the Universal Living Rosary Association of Saint Philomena. These requests will be brought to the foot of Calvary, to the Cross, that brought life and salvation. Remember, each day you will be in my prayers in a very special way.

Finally, I leave you with a prayer. God the father, as any loving father, has given us a special Guardian Angel for protection. Call on him and feel his closeness every morning and every night:
